Federico Schiaffino

"GLI ALFABETI DELL' ANIMA"

The Artist Federico Schiaffino has been predestined for a particular path through life.
Born in Portofino 1953, as a son of Luigi Schiaffino, nickname Odysseus, a sailor who travelled from Genoa, on seaships around the world.
When he retuned home, he told the little Federico all the legends and adventures that he accumulated on his journeys.
Later in life Federico’s “opposition to words” made him to study Art at the Brera Academy in Milan and at Pratt Graphic Centre in New York and leads him to become a painter.

Federico Schiaffi no is one of the most driven contemporary artists and belonges to the movement of Italian Post-Avant- Garde.
Famous members are Sandro Chia, Francesco Clemente, Enzo Cucchi, Mimmo Paladino and others…..
He lives life to the full and draws tremendous inspiration from “wherever it happens to be at any given time”.
The Painter formulates the narrative lyrical, visual words originating depths emotional thoughts and dreams.
Federico Schiaffino’s yearning for sensuality and love and his belief in the inseparable unity of man and nature, is there for the viewer to discover in his art work.
His own sensitive experiences are a constant source, of the inspiration on which the painter draws to create complex pictures, etchings and paintings, accompanied by a profound knowledge.
For many years his summer exhibition is helt at Brown Castle, always a comback after his trips and working period at the atelier of his German country-side house.
This idyllic setting of the former roman foundation, give a rise to a creed of radical optimism.
“The World is beautiful”.
Savour it with all your senses for as long as you can.
Schiaffino never tires of proclaiming his life-affirming outlook, something which is inseparable from his conception of art.
At the magic terrace of the castle, surrounded by a 360 degree view at the Mediterranean Sea, explosive
shades and colours, feels like being close to paradise.
It’s a get away of the hectic of everyday life and here he finds mental and physical relaxation.
To have a discussion with Federico Schiaffi now there - ideally with a glass of wine -is as cleansing like the Mistral wind and can be intoxicating like a drug.

and tragedy to discover the gate of your time and the alphabet of soul.
